Leaving Accounting for Construction at 40+

A freezing 5°C (41°F) morning commute from Saint-Michel to Roxboro on the NIU NQi GTS.

Between fogged-up helmet visors, rush hour traffic chaos, and the aftermath of Quebec’s provincial election, I open up about a major life pivot: after studying accounting and struggling to find work, I am officially making the jump into physical construction trades.

I break down why I find plastering and wall restoration so meditative, taking the 30-hour ASP Construction safety course, joining the union, and preparing for an 800-hour trade apprenticeship in 2027 to finally build a pension in my 40s.

Stick around after the vlog for a relaxing ride-along soundtracked by an original autumn lo-fi chillhop track!
